June 18, 200619 yr Admin Thats a new one, never heard of that before. Have you tried it? Does it work?
June 18, 200619 yr 1 trap will take out every snail/slug in a 10 ft radius, so you'll need more than 1 to cover an entire garden. You can buy them commercially, with a nice wee catch basket to lift the snail out of the beer, but a big yoghurt pot or preserve jar is disposable, just put in another.Try it you'll be amazed how effective it is.Commercial slug trap The jar/pot trap will also work if laid on it's side with a little beer in the bottom, but you don't have the volume then to catch many.
June 18, 200619 yr The plus side of the beer trap is that it is friendly for bigger critters, who at worst might get drunk!
June 18, 200619 yr Admin I just came in from working out in the hot sun and those wee critters are making me dizzy!Got to add them to the smilies if you don't mind. drink water now and go back to work says Meg....
June 19, 200619 yr Author Anything I do will be organic/natural....I'm going to just wait and see what happens....I have small garden...prob 4 feet x 8 feet at the most...just big enough to learn to garden with....if I get pests, it will prob wipe out half my garden LOL but oh well, I'll learn from it.. Hey, dont fall over but it was and 99 degrees today!!!!
June 19, 200619 yr ....and we have typical Scottish summer weather, 13c and horizontal rain! ie, very windy and heavy rain.
June 19, 200619 yr Those critters (if you hadn't guessed) come as a group of three, I pinched them from the Trapman! But I've seen them before somewhere. The hamsterdance Others come as singles.
June 19, 200619 yr Author this entire week is supposed to be sunny and warm....80-85F (26-32c) cute hamsters
