December 18, 200520 yr I have to tell you something that does work for me....read it in a Chinese health article a long time ago...clove honey and cider vinegar mixed with a cup of water.....I should do it every day but I tend to only do it when I feel a cold or flu coming on....helps my breathing/asthma.
December 18, 200520 yr Author Is that adrink or an inhalation? I've got a free supply of honey, on and off-comb, daughter no1 keeps bees with her grandfather. Don't use too much, I get a regular xmas present of a 1 lb jar and a block of comb. Too greedy to use it for anything else except eating !
December 18, 200520 yr drink....its about a tablespon of honey and about a tablespoon of vinegar...only seems to work with clover honey and cider vinegar though
December 18, 200520 yr Author Spoonful of honey in a glass of hot lemonade works for a cold/tickly cough.I wonder why only clover honey?Did you know that many asthma sufferers actually have a salycilate allergy. Salicylic acid is a naturally occuring compound in many plants and fruits, but in medieval times they chewed willow bark to cool fevers. It worked because willow is high in salycillic acid.....asprin. Could be that clover is low or does not have salycillates, other honeys might carry it, which wouldn't help!
December 18, 200520 yr Admin I also give about 2 tablespoons of vinegar to a 1/2 gallon or water for the dogs to keep ticks and fleas and other vermin at bay.We just started last summer putting it in the water trough for the larger animals and they seem to like it really well....too well maybe. Then theres Meg's Kaboncha that she puts in her tea to help the pain in her hands and wrists which is a natural vinegar
