From the Cumberland News, 20th March 2009 Dacre Castle near Penrith for rent The 14th century Dacre Castle near Penrith, complete with dungeon and turrets, is being offered for rent. Tenants can live there for £1,000 a month and occupy the historic fort. It was built for protection against the Scottish and is part of the Hasell estate. It is famous for its pele towers.
