Messerschmitt restoration project Scotland Today (News Programme) 11 April 2006 11:57 Thirteen years ago it was little more than a heap of metal lying abandoned in a field. Now, thanks to an artist from Skelmorlie, a Messerschmit plane dating back to 1948 is flying once again. For more than a decade now Jim Hardie has gathered parts from around the world. When artist Jim Hardie rescued the rotting remains of a Messerschmidt plane from a field, he never imagined that one day he would get it off the ground. He said: "I had no intention of re-building an aeroplane. I had this exhibition in the Collins Gallery and I had motorbikes that I had re-bui…

What exactly is a military and or civilian truck in use by the military. Sort of what is a true military vehicle like the purpose built Jeep of years ago compared to the new trucks including the HUMMWV. My opinion is Civ trucks have always been called into service during conflicts and the use of commercial trucks during Peace time started somewhere before WW I. Most think it started with the M 880 Dodge 1/2 ton pickup trucks then progressed to the CUCV's and now to the Smart Truck II and III. scroll down some for the article Link is not longer valid, try www.exn.ca/dailyplanet/ and do a search. IS this thing armored and can it be toughened for even urban comba…

French drivers illegally use vegoil as fuel By Muriel Boselli PARIS (Reuters) - Some French motorists are dodging the near-record price of conventional oil by illegally using pure vegetable oil as a substitute for diesel, a French sunflower oil distributor said. "At least 2,000 to 3,000 French motorists are using between 50 and 100 percent pure vegetable oil in their tanks right now," said Alain Juste, manager of Valenergol, a southwest-based sunflower oil distribution company. Despite the European Union pushing for the development of pure vegetable oils as an alternative to traditional fuels, they have never been legally permitted in France. Motorists who us…

2.3 litter engine 27 miles per gallon est 300,000 miles plus 2 wheel drive beat-battered-hit in wrecks several times = body rough! As mentioned in the other forum we have had some slight problems with our number 1 parts runner. It turns out this whole mess was a matter of poor workmanship on the manufacture of the certain parts. Meg, me and mostly Sir Mech has been understandably put into a bind having to rework a head several times over getting things right. Hopefully this is all most over.

Now you guys know I've bored you over and over about the lousy drivers we have around here but this morning something new was added. On I 75 South of Tulsa a sniper was reported shooting out vehicle radiators from a over pass, well of course the Police Department was unable to catch him no matter how many cars he hit and there were quite a few. Some made it home with out even knowing their cars had taken rounds Don't ask me how they didn't know but I do have a opinion or two. Not long after that a eye witness called into the news that they had seen a TANK, with tracks!! cruising North on the same highway from that area. Some smart butt news man was heard to say "Ge…
