The little jeepy limped her back to the office which was over 25 miles away then drove on the trailer and off for the trip home with out a problem.

To make a long story shorter we decided to go ahead with our plans to put 4 wheel drive under her at this time. We've had this idea for over 10 years and this was the final straw.

The springs from the factory were flat and the little vehicle was under sprung to say the least.

A better way of thinking is, it had no springs from the factory!

I found a Dana 30 front axle in really good shape and bought it for an even better price from one of our locale shops in Tulsa known as Harmon's 4 w/d.

Meg and I cleaned it up, changed the gear lube, regressed everything including the Warn lock out hubs that came with it and in general went through it.

We mounted it on the existing springs---thats when we found out just how flat the springs really were---with out a doubt!!

So tomorrow I go looking for a set of good used or new springs for the front and rear of little Jeepy.

Oh yeah, as a side note---the mech has been involved for some technical questions at this stage.

The body on my Blazer is rusting off the frame and is in need of a transplant.

I have done several body swaps but never one for my vehicles.

It may likely feel like insainity at some time during the labor but it does have to be done.

My truck as it was a few years ago before a major amount of rust set in.

and the donor body a 1986 M 1009 military Blazer body or whats left of it!

I acquired it through Sir Mech, who got it from a guy, who got it from the Air Force at Tinker AFB through the auctions :blink:

I'm not sure if this will be done in my drive way, in Sir Mechs or some ones elses work place.

I'll try hard to go into great detail and bore you guys as much as possible

I posted this for Mech and Ralph, I know you guys like the military stuff. The site is self explanatory, but bearing in mind that Scotland had huge military importance during WW2 and the Cold War, this is about the abandoned bits and pieces that are still around for the curious.

On another note I have been wrenching for about 30 years if i can help anyone with any auto issues please let me. Know i would be more than glad to help (even you Ralph) lol

By doing this you will get an increase in air flow from the heater/defroster, any way this is what the mod amounts too.

Whats Needed:

A.

1. Blower motor from a Air Conditioned Chevy truck, 1973-1987 (?)

Siemens PM 102X 12V o3295

Napa 455-1039

2. Squirrel cage of the same years or there abouts, (these are larger and will hold at least 2 squirrels possibly 3 -- instead of 1)

Napa 655-1412

3. 1 inch long screws of the same diameter and thread pitch or you can simply re-thread the holes using a number 12 self tapping machine screw.

B:

Take the heater blower motor housing,

3. grind out the center hole where the Squirrel cage goes to match the new cage's diameter and they do vary in size due to re-manufacturing by different company's. (in other words the damn Chinese company's have problems using measuring tools!)

4. make a spacer ring, heavy Plexiglas or metal, at least 1/2 thick the same size as the flange on the heater motor making sure the cage will not rub when mounted to the shaft.

5. make two gaskets from quality rubberized victorpac material also sold at Napa

JV 127 1x32"

6. use a good military grade ATV on the gasgets and reassemble components with the 1" screws.

Lights are twin Fog and Driving lights with the KC's in a different area then the earlier images.

The 38 inch tall x 12.5 wide military Hmmwv radials and rims and the bracket for mounting the High lift Jack.

The CUCV military radio antenna mounts with brush guards.
